Mary Somerville McSparran received her BA from UNC-Chapel Hill and her MFA in poetry writing from Vanderbilt University. She gained expertise in literary archiving while completing her MLS at Indiana University and has curated collections by Elizabeth Bishop, Peter Taylor, and Roy Blount, Jr., among others. As the Curator of Manuscripts at the Vanderbilt Special Collections Library, she works to integrate literature and primary sources through teaching, events, and exhibitions.
